Certified Kitchen in rural East Maui
KIPAHULU KITCHEN
Kipahulu Kitchen is a shared-use certified commercial kitchen, operated by Kīpahulu ‘Ohana
The certified kitchen is used for processing poi with kalo harvested from Kapahu Living Farm, while also used for other value-added processors and lunch wagon vendors in East Maui in order for them to meet Department of Health requirements.
Interested in becoming a food vendor? Email kitchen@kipahulu.org. Priority is given to generational Kīpahulu residents and agricultural-based food producers.
Kalena Center and Kipahulu Kitchen are completely off the grid, powered by solar energy, with fiber optics internet, and a composting toilet.

“Supporting Local Farmers: By purchasing food directly from local farmers, consumers provide a direct market for their produce, helping them sustain their livelihoods and encouraging small-scale farming practices. This support strengthens rural communities and fosters economic resilience.”
